Charly PR bolsters Benelux Leadership with Mark van Tol as new MD

Charly PR, the Benelux agency for integrated corporate and consumer communications, has strengthened its team with Mark Van Tol. As Managing Director, Mark will devote his extensive experience to leading the Dutch team and acting as sparring partner on existing key accounts and attracting new clients on both a Dutch and Benelux level.

"Our search for the right Managing Director in the Netherlands took time, because we put a lot of effort into finding the right person," explains Karolien Hessels. As Managing Director Benelux, Karolien took on the leadership of both the Belgian office and the Dutch office over the past year.

"Mark's rich international professional background and extensive expertise caught our attention, and in talks with a number of key people in our organization we felt the right chemistry. His familiarity not only with consumer PR and corporate communications, but also with crisis communications - a key services pillar - is a huge asset. I’m very much looking forward to further developing our agency, which we repositioned and rebranded from LVTPR to Charly PR less than a year ago, with Mark’s experience and fresh perspective."

International PR experience

Mark graduated from the Universities of Ottawa (Canada) and Sydney (Australia). Afterwards, he worked both on the client side (at Bugaboo in the Netherlands and Shanghai, and Ford Canada) and agency side (in Canada NATIONAL Public Relations, and in the Netherlands as account director at Edelman and PR lead at Ogilvy). Now he takes up a new challenge at Charly PR.

“The opportunity to lead an iconic Dutch PR agency, doesn’t come along every day. Charly PR has established an impressive reputation over the past 30 years, known for its holistic approach to client service across the Benelux region,” explains Mark. “I look forward to build on their success and work with our enthusiastic team to support clients with their communication challenges.”
