Every day, Belnet does an amazing job in building, maintaining and optimizing high quality innovative network infrastructures with associated services. It does so for higher education and research institutions and government departments in Belgium. However, as it is largely funded by the government, proving its relevance among these institutions and the government is an ongoing key challenge. In 2017, Belnet enlisted the expertise of LVTPR.
LVTPR established a tailor-made program to profile Belnet and its internet exchange point BNIX among key decision and policy makers, mainly through national ICT and business media. LVTPR deployed a wide array of tactics, such as surveys, executive profiling, news updates. Our role also included extensive PR support during community events (media relations, facilitating interviews, speech writing, etc).
This strategy generated a 40% coverage increase compared to 2017 and – more importantly – a much higher quality of the clippings. Belnet was featured in tier 1 media like RTL, L’Echo, L’Avenir, Data News and La Libre Belgique (often in print as well). Moreover, the overall coverage had a much more positive tone than the years before. This has greatly supported Belnet in its endeavors to prove its key position in the Belgian IT landscape.
