The virtual band Gorillaz is one of the hottest music acts right now. When it was announced that this band would be working with our client Sonos, we were practically jumping for joy. In light of their first album in seven years – Humanz – Sonos hosted a so-called Spirit House in New York, Berlin and Amsterdam. Here, fans experienced the album in an interactive way. And thanks to the Sonos PLAYBASE speaker the audio quality was top notch. LVTPR was asked to bring the Amsterdam edition to the attention of media. And to make sure the event attracted a full house, of course.
What we did? First, we customized the Spirit House experience to fit the needs of Benelux media. That meant choosing the right location and creating the perfect atmosphere.
In addition, we wrote the media announcement and lobbied with media and influencers to make sure they wouldn’t miss this once in a lifetime opportunity.
The results certainly didn’t make a monkey out of anyone. Our consultants know how to set up the ultimate Sonos experience, and they’ve become experienced Gorillaz tour guides. Unfortunately, they’re not available for booking right now. Thanks to the close collaboration with Sonos and international agencies, a total of thirty art, design, music and culture titles showed up for the press launch of the house. This means about sixty journalists and bloggers experienced the Gorillaz and Sonos. We’re happy and feeling glad.
