If you’ve never heard of Zwarte Cross Festival, you haven’t been paying attention. It’s one of Europe’s biggest outdoor music and sports festivals. And with its 33 stages spread across 160 hectares and three villages, the festival attracts over 220.000 visitors each year.
To secure the safety of the guests and to be able to offer them a good WiFi connection, Zwarte Cross teamed up with our client Extreme Networks. Together, they developed a unique network solution for the 2018 edition of the festival. LVTPR was asked to draw attention to this special collaboration by alerting relevant tech and IT media. This would allow Extreme Networks to be profiled as a partner who supports organizations with more stable connections. A challenge we happily accepted.
What made this case extra challenging for our PR consultants, was that the festival takes place in the middle of summer. And in the Achterhoek as well, a location in the very East of the Netherlands that is quite far from where most tech and IT media are headquartered.
However, thanks to our extensive media database and our personal relationships with many important journalists, we were able to invite just the right ones. To visit the festival of course, and for an exclusive look behind the scenes. Because making sure everyone can enjoy an optimal WiFi connection at such a big event is not an easy task.
Our PR consultants, the Extreme Networks team and IT manager Maurice Haafs showed four relevant journalists around the festival site. From the WiFi Helpdesk to a visit backstage during a big concert and the behind-the-scenes look of the IT management center: ‘Where the magic happens’.
The result of this scorching hot day in the Achterhoek? Articles in CIO Magazine, Techzine.nl and Blog IT, which perfectly captured the story of Extreme Networks and Zwarte Cross. And the best result of all: a happy customer who was able to create a case study and company video based on this day.
